A person who has subconsciously chosen that they are not willing to be teachable, unlearn and relearn is a person you shouldn’t waste time arguing with. You can never beat a fool at a fool’s game.

as a man, you want to be evaluated in a setting you define. not in someone else’s marketplace, not in a feed. & certainly not on some dumb app. basically you want to make sure it’s not in a room where the ranking system rewards the shallowest possible read of you, like a police lineup. what you need a backdrop that reveals what is actually compelling about you like your taste, your judgment, your discipline, your humor, your presence, & most important your way of seeing the world. if you let modern systems define the frame, they will reduce you to the most superficial version of yourself & then judge you for it.

People who don’t watch all competitions, like the Africa Cup, shouldn’t call themselves experts. A lot of people think it’s a surprise but anyone who watches AFCON knows how strong Cape Verde really is. No surprise

Being a good software developer and becoming important by an accident is a nightmare. I may be considered one of the best devs on the team, but that doesn't matter at all, I earn as much as others, but just end up working more.

I was talking to a YC partner about how well all the hard tech startups are doing. He said investors are hot to fund them because they're afraid AI will eat all software. I'm glad hardware startups are getting funded, but this is a mistake. Good founders are what wins.

"Sorry, you can't play in the World Cup because Mark was crap at geography at school."
Shouldn't one of the requirements for a country to qualify to play in the World Cup that it be a country that people have heard of?

The frontier is nerfed beyond belief. You can run a model like Qwen3.6-27B on a decent MacBook that’s better at brainstorming than frontier models. That’s the smallest local model that I’ve used which beats frontier in almost every category, but especially problem solving or co-working on problem solving. It beats frontier at Q4. Even better at NVFP4 on Blackwell. Frontier has been nerfed on purpose to halt progress and data mine your brain because we get triggered into correcting demented and incoherent rhetoric.
brainstorming with Opus 4.8 or GPT 5.5 is measurably worse than just thinking by myself with Fable that was not the case Fable was a helpful contributor, with deep understanding of the entire project but with other LLMs, I just feel myself drowning in brain fog

During the 94 world cup they kidnapped Brazilian soccer player Romário’s dad and the guy said that if they didn’t find his dad, he wouldn’t play in the cup the entire country became invested in finding him. Police received countless tips, and even local drug traffickers and the cartels reportedly helped look for him because they didn’t want anything to jeopardize Brazil’s World Cup chances. They found his dad alive and well and arrested the kidnappers. Brazil went on to win the 1994 World Cup, with Romário being one of the tournament’s standout players and winning the Golden Ball( player of the tournament ) as the competition’s best player.
