CHAINLINK CCIP GOES LIVE ON SONIC (PREVIOUSLY FANTOM)
-
@Chainlink Cross-Chain Interoperability Protocol (CCIP) is now live on
@SonicLabs (formerly known as Fantom).
- With this integration, developers can leverage Chainlink's infrastructure to build secure cross-chain applications.
Key Details:
- Per reports, Chainlink's CCIP enables developers to seamlessly transfer tokens, send messages, and initiate actions between Sonic and other blockchains.
- Every cross-chain transaction via CCIP is redundantly validated by multiple Chainlink’s Decentralized Oracle Networks (DONs), including an independent Risk Management Network that continuously monitors for anomalous behavior.
- One of CCIP’s most significant features is programmable token transfers. This allows developers to automate complex, multi-step processes across blockchains with a single, atomic instruction.
- Cross-Chain Tokens (CCTs) can now be easily integrated, allowing for zero-slippage transfers with enhanced programmability. Developers gain full control over token pools, without needing to include CCIP-specific code in the token’s smart contract.
- Alongside cross-chain interoperability, developers on SonicLabs now have access to Chainlink Data Streams and Data Feeds, which reportedly provide low-latency, verified market data for powering high-throughput DeFi apps.
- This comes a few days after Chainlink has integrated Circle’s cross-chain transfer protocol (CCTP) with its own CCIP system, aiming to securely move the USDC stablecoin across blockchains.
