true believers already gave anthropic their passport and drivers license to get fable access
So when do I give Anthropic my passport and retina scan and signed affidavit saying I will not let my chinese nationalist gf touch the keyboard when interacting with fable

Siri's verbosity is still a non-starter if you plan to interact with this as an assistant all day. Most of these responses should be single words, not lengthy repetitive verbal ticks. And worse — it won't change for a yearly cycle. Hoping OpenAI gets this right once and for all.
Siri can help you do your expenses

Fable showed up, did not eat or stop working for seven days, communicated like a maniac in a language of its own abstractions, wrote 50,000 lines of the best code I've ever seen and then just disappeared

Did they wait to announce this after the SpaceX IPO pop? The Anthropic compute deal is force majeured without Fable, I assume.
We fully support @POTUS and @SecWar in prioritizing national security and the security of our warfighters, DIB partners, critical infrastructure, international partners and allies. Some things are simply more important than revenue cycles, clickbait, and pre-IPO valuation. America First. Always. 🇺🇸

The year is 2027 and you are panhandling for Fable agent session artifacts from that one week in June

I’m glad we’re finally redeploying stranded compute, but the fact that Google Research is working on this is a bit of a sobering projection for the upcoming supply crunch. The days of throwing old laptops and phones into a drawer are over; you’ll need those CPUs.
People replace their phones every ~4 yrs. This means there are hundreds of millions of old phones discarded each year that are still perfectly usable as computing devices. @Google in collabration with @UCSD is exploring how to turn these old phones into cloud-computing “phone clusters”. Putting phones back in service in this way can directly reduce the environmental footprint of computing by avoiding the need for further raw material extraction, and taking advantage of the embodied carbon already incurred from manufacturing these devices, and modern phones actually are already quite powerful computers. Even more remarkable about the policy is that giving the world access to these models means pipelining the world's data, knowledge, and secrets right into an American frontier lab. We should be broadcasting these widely, even subsidizing as federal policy.
If this is true, it is just baffling. An administration whose posture is that we *should* export advanced AI chips to China, which also wants to ban… Britain (and every other non-American on Earth)… from using our best models? I have no words.

The US government, citing national security authorities, has issued an export control directive to suspend all access to Fable 5 and Mythos 5 by any foreign national, whether inside or outside the United States, including foreign national Anthropic employees. The net effect of this order is that we must abruptly disable Fable 5 and Mythos 5 for all our customers to ensure compliance. Access to all other Claude models is not affected. We apologize for this disruption to our customers. We believe this is a misunderstanding and are working to restore access as soon as possible. Read our full statement: anthropic.com/news/fable-myt…

They did it. SpaceX has now launched more satellites than the rest of humanity, combined, all time.
SpaceX is only ~200 satellites away from having launched as many satellites as the rest of the world combined (despite giving the rest of the world a 61-year head start)

Has any of the internal details and triumph within the Tesla Autopilot org been written about? After the years of turnover, I am so impressed by where FSD has landed in the last year — all while the leader was distracted by politics and ketamine. Even more impressive honestly.

Already out of date too! It is a shame that Fable's capabilities are not unlocked, but Opus 4.8 Max reasoning chains are quite good, especially at general anatomical understanding and mechanistic physiology. Ask it to visualize an organ system or metastasis lymphatic chain.
For medical information, general AI frontier models (Google, OpenAI, Anthropic) outperformed specialized @EvidenceOpen and @UpToDate as assessed by 12 US clinicians, randomized and blinded to which model and extensive testing/benchmarks. This was not anticipated. @NatureMedicine nature.com/articles/s41591-0…

Have tried a few cases where I handed over an existing Opus conversation to Fable Max in Claude and received a bit of gobbledygook as it tries to overfit on the new writing style. It seems like it tries to outsmart and talk circles around you, but sometimes just devoid of value.

Had Tesla’s FSD encounter one of the downpours that you only see once or twice a year, and it was the best and most confident driver on the highway, even in the degraded vision scenario. Traffic jams in those scenarios are going to be nonexistent as it proliferates.
