Cleveland Way walk
Staying in Helmsley for the time being, I visited the fabulous Helmsley Walled Garden, as a added bonus you got great views of Helmsley Castle which is next door.
Cleveland Way long distance path
Before starting out on the Cleveland Way, I camped for 2 nights on the lawn of the hostel (I think it closed and was sold a couple of years ago) and spent the day exploring Helmsley itself, a lovely old, historic market town.
The Cleveland Way starts in Helmsley, a market town on the edge of the North York Moors National Park. If you are ever in the area it's definitely worth a visit.
While I am in recovery mode, might be a good time to post pictures of a long distance walk. Over the next few days I will post pictures I took whist walking the Cleveland Way, a 109 mile National Trail in North Yorkshire, England.
Hi, my foot was worse this morning than last night, the infection had spread. Luckily I managed to see a doctor this morning, I have cellulitis, most likely caused by a spider bite. I am now on antibiotics so hopefully I will start seeing some improvement.
A critic once asked why David Hockney still painted landscapes as it was a ‘dead art’. Hockey responded, “Landscapes are nature and nature doesn’t fucking die!”
A massive, heartfelt thank you, to all who followed, reposted, commented or liked any of my posts this week. I may not have a large quantity of followers, but I definitely have quality followers. I really appreciate each and everyone of you.
Hope everyone is ok, it's been a beautiful afternoon. I have spent the weekend at home resting, my left foot is reddish, swollen and painful. Someone suggested an insect bite and gave me some Piriton tablets. Had 2 so far, will see how it is in the morning.

I got my paints out today, the first time in a long, long time. Pictured is a watercolour I painted in November 1997.

We live and breathe this and have done for 20 years and i am happy to say a growing number of farmers are leading a quiet but powerful movement to restore the land they love too. Regenerative farming is about more than growing food; it's about rebuilding healthy soils, welcoming wildlife back into our landscapes, and leaving the land in better heart for the generations that follow. Farmers are not the problem, we are part of the solution ❤️
