Our @CanonFodderNOLA Brass Band had such a blast today playing for our new friend Scott’s 40th birthday party. What a great group of family and friends to parade with. Mostly I’m thankful live music is back.

A pet peeve re: the SBC annual meeting is when the question is called before a motion has had the chance to be debated adequately. It’s a shrewd tactic but it’s poor form & doesn’t serve the messengers well. You don’t need to strong-arm a strong motion. #sbc26

The vote on the suspension of the rules from the Mohler amendment will happen at 5:15 today.
If the suspension fails, then the motion will be referred to the executive committee. If the suspension passes, the motion will be scheduled for 8:45 tomorrow morning.

Some PhD updates after an incredibly long semester: I received the Robert S Magee Doctoral Scholar award and passed my comprehensive exams!!!! I am very thankful and very much in need of a nap!

Question for drivers of Jeep Wranglers. Those who drive 07 or newer Wranglers, do you not know about the Jeep Wave? I’m confused as to how there’s been this weird adoption of cramming your dash full of rubber duckies, while at the same time, an abandoning the historic Jeep Wave.

Michelle and I slipped away to Baton Rouge to see my favorite band play a Christmas show. Tower of Power’s Holiday and Hits should blow the roof completely off this place by the end of the night. Merry Christmas to all of you who still be Diggin’ on James Brown.

This guy is not only THE most loved & appreciated man in the Southern Baptist Convention, he’s a long-time family friend & we love him deeply. He even flew to my hometown to be with us during the week of dad’s funeral. We love Don & enjoy visiting with him when he’s in NOLA.

Just finished my last PhD seminar ever!I’m so thankful for the gift that the PhD program has been so far & the opportunity to think deeply & grow
Some next steps & hurdles remain before the next stage of my program but getting to this point is such a gift of God’s faithfulness!
