“Code is fashion now.”
AI made code cheap to produce, remix, and replace. So if you work with agents, @heyitsnoah says the leverage is giving them better layers beneath code:
Plans: separate thinking from doing
Specs: define what’s in and out
Architecture: explain how the system works
Standards: encode how we build
It's a framework that keeps humans and agents moving in the same direction.
This long piece by @rgb_prithvi from the company behind Claude Code explains how to harness your models to work better.

One interesting bit is that you can rip out parts of your harness as models evolve.
But not in all cases...
As @heyitsnoah explains is his last story about building a competition between models, you can simplify your harness as the model you are using improves, *unless* you need to work with multiple models.

The team @Alephic_AI gave 45 AI models the same March Madness bracket and a set of tools. GPT-4o Mini picked teams that weren't in the tournament. One model started googling in French at step 72. Grok 4 named itself "Zero Groks Given." We built three difficulty modes to figure out what scaffolding actually matters.

New Forward Deployed episode with Chris Papasadero on what Green Berets, Palantir FDEs, and film showrunners have in common when it comes to building agentic systems.
We hope @RLanceMartin will be back as co-host soon!

Creative destruction in action.
As Schumpeter put it, capitalism advances through a “perennial gale of creative destruction,” where new technologies and models constantly replace the old.
