Lucked into this Pine Marten along Glen Strathfarrar before ascending Sgùrr a' Choire Ghlais (1084m), where only a Ptarmigan was noted in true dreich conditions!
The Highland Dragonfly season is finally in full swing! The Big 3 Dragonfly species of Wester Ross all seen today with relative ease, although the Azure Hawker never perched long enough for photos. @BDSdragonflies
6th Jun, well, that just happened, 2 miles from South Stack Anglesey to see the Woodchat Shrike turned into a mad dash (after the shrike) for the reported WESTERN REEF HERON. @LeeEvansBirding
Something of a nothing day turned into a beauty! First an unexpected female Honey-buzzard showed well (only phone shots), and then, a singing male Red-breasted Flycatcher near Inverness!
Balnakeil: another lovely visit to this remote corner of Scotland. Nothing mega, but drk Garganey and flava-type Yellow Wagtail over both Highland scarcities. A few other decent bits, plus 3 Risso’s Dolphins!
Delighted to see the male Eastern Subalpine Warbler yesterday at Beachy Head. A long overdue addition to the (now stagnant) county list! @SussexBirding
Eventually a mega seawatch this pm at Rubha Reidh in squally conditions:
Long-tailed Skua - 70 (biggest flock being 15)
Pomarine Skua - 14

From this… to this, in just over a year! The most perfect and happiest day with my life partner. Rather apt that a Small Tortoiseshell was present throughout the ceremony! #Married
A cracking weekend away along and above our favourite loch – Loch Maree! A certain question was asked (and accepted) here, before camping and then ascending Slioch (981m)! Couldn’t have asked for a better weekend alongside my wife to be! Ring Ouzels, Golden Eagles etc also seen.
Our website is now live!!

Photos below, bar the night heron, taken by @erichens11. The trip kindly put together by @Ashley_Howe1990, using the services of Pugmark Tours & Travels, the go-to agent for seeking out the Masked Finfoot.
Back home this morning from a seven-day birding trip to Bangladesh, where the undoubted highlights came from the Sundarbans. Only nine lifers for me this trip, but these do include the doomed Masked Finfoot and range-restricted White-eared Night Heron!

With ears finely tuned while shopping in Inverness today with @erichens11, it was a joy to hear and then see a Waxwing fly over. Hopefully not the last of the winter! @WaxwingsUK
I recently reacquainted myself with a 'lost' memory card, and hidden in amongst were these Short-toed Eagle photos taken on Ashdown Forest (East Sussex). Of the 330 species I saw in the county before moving to the Highlands, this was the stand-out bird by far!
