Merry Christmas #fabtcg! Here's my Christmas present to y'all. One of FaB's oldest memes canonized. Files below for you to mess around with. I intend to turn them into flyers local and have the xcf/psd available too. drive.google.com/drive/folde…

Hey is there a place to provide feedback straight to lss about sets? I've had a lot of good discussions with others about omens as a product. I thought about screaming into the void of Twitter, but would rather not today #fabtcg

Tried out that new fangled Rengar deck. Having so much accelerate and ambush to ignore the movement in this game helped my enjoyment a lot... But aren't I just ignoring a core feature of the game like this?
Been trying so hard to like riftbound. It's a complete coin toss whether I'm having fun regardless of if I win or lose Early game, especially at low power, is just so boring, frustrating, volatile? Choices you have to make to not auto lose/win on the first showdown suck imo

Been noticing this too. I think Riftbound might be turning into a Pokemon. Packs with no value (despite costing above MSRP) because people opening for lottery tickets (aka Signature Cards) It's nice as someone treating Rift as a side game, but pack prizing does suck on average

This is some of the dumbest rules management I've ever heard. It's a miracle the game came out remotely playable with all this rules flip flopping, both unintentional and intentional somehow.
Hey Riftbounders - we've discovered an area of ambiguity causing confusion for judges globally that is centered around the rules for copying tokens, such as with LeBlanc and Reflection tokens. With Unleashed’s launch in China, their judge community received official guidance from us that tokens copy everything about the unit including whether the unit is a token or card and this replaces the copy’s trait with this information. Sett in Unleashed is testing so well. Need to see how he does into meta but he has all the components of a functioning deck thanks to extra card draw and ambush. Faefolk is crazy, Arena bar feels so much better. #riftbound

Won my #fabtcg Skirmish. My opinion on SAge hasn't really changed from it. Out of 6 games, only 1 wasn't a functional auto win for me. Kinda boring when things are going well.

Finished drafting the #FaBTCG duos cube tonight. Dorinthea/Ira won by combining Edge with Perforate, Twist and Turn, and Edict to make explosive turns happen Last week, it was big dumb Pleiades/Kayo juggling suspense, confidence, and pummels

I've been steadily updating this and it's very close to finalized. Me and gf believe this is the best #fabtcg cube out there. I even assembled an archetype guide to give an idea of what you can do. shorturl.at/oMlaJ
I updated my GF's #fabtcg cube for PEN. Behold, Duos Cube! bit.ly/4rzigB5 The gimmick? 5 heroes & you have 2 hero zones. Get an MtG-like draft & some very illegal combos Anothos w/ Dori's extra swing. Crouching Tiger backed by RKO. Guardian 6s in Brute Please enjoy!

Have people had any growth locally from SAge and PEN? I like pen as a set (awful product), but it legit did nothing here. Instead, every LGS is firing riftbound twice a week, barely an exaggeration. #fabtcg

I've felt this in my bones for decades. I'm better off than 90 % people I know and I've never escaped the hopelessness that is living here Mostly comes down to no agency to change how I live. My route to promotions are net negatives. Moving at all is a net negatives, etc
America sucks cock. Everyone I know hates their job and life.

Holy shit, watching this unfold was rough. Dude is acting incredibly reasonable. I'm not one to blame a people, but Yu-Gi-Oh has really cultivated an unserious group of people.
I have never felt so unwelcome to a community. I was genuinely becoming interested in researching Yu-Gi-Oh and getting involved but I've seen more than enough closed-mindedness and defensive to not want to be a part of it.

Anyone who does try this cube out, please message me with input. It'll help me tweak this for the next major update.

Okay, after testing and going through the first pq. I hate SAge, this format sucks and I don't know if it's salvageable. Lot of things I don't like about it are just systemic issues with cutting majestics and cutting life to 20. I legit had more fun with blitz last time #fabtcg

Treating Wizards as morally distinct from Hasbro isn’t a principled line, it’s a comfort one. Wizards is how Hasbro monetizes you. Carving it out doesn’t apply pressure, it preserves the behavior.

Hasbro knows Magic players are locked in by sunk costs/community. That’s why outrage is cheap, sales are safe, and “moral lines” go away when quitting is the price asked from the enfranchised. They paid Rowling knowing the backlash wouldn’t cost them a dime. And they were right.
Responding to today's Hasbro partnership announcement that included Harry Potter, the WOTC Comm Team confirmed that HP is NOT currently planned for MTG:

This is..."a step in the right direction" It got me thinking about "Play the Game, See the World", Player of the Year, and our prize structure. I think we might need a deeper integration into the lower circuit other TCGs haven't done. 1-🧵

Instead, we got Player of the Year, aka Brodie Spurlock's 100k sponsorship. Someone else could have taken it hypothetically, but...let's be honest, "See the World" part of the motto could only be fulfill by wealthy people with infinite time to spare. 3-🧵

Made a mistake, it's 25k, total PotY funds were 100k... New thought, did Brodie spend more in travel expenses than the money he got back from PotY?
42
How? Funds to help LGSes make big swings. LGS wants a 1k? LSS matches it for a 2k. LGS doesn't have 100 seats, but it's a good location to travel to? Help them find rental space, maybe even subsidize Most of us won't 'See the World'; next best thing is getting FaB's world to us

(Admittedly, this is a very American perspective. It's prohibitively expensive to travel here and the economics of American LGSs are a big hindrance to small games)
