Hi everyone! RIOT has been an incredible journey. In 2 days, we'll be putting out our 32nd issue. As much as we wish we could do this forever, all things must change and grow; that is to say, 5 members of our core team are leaving RIOT - we're growing up and we're growing out.

As I (eic) take a step back, I want to remind everyone that RIOT will be back better than ever in a few months. In the meantime, please read our 32nd issue, coming out on the 22nd! It's a meditation on what RIOT has meant to us. It's not a goodbye, it's a see you soon.

it took me a couple months to teach my mother that oomf was a short form and sksks was a key smash. now, i wake up to “good morning sweetie, how is my oomf doing today sksksk,” and even worse, it’s not on text.

personally, I think every writer has their own unique voice, and taking that away from them is perhaps the biggest crime an editor can to do their work. unless they use “!!!” punctuation. nobody likes “!!!” punctuation.
