I appreciate the honest response from Denny. 😂 That said, I am curious if we will see another Cinderella story type of run from Ty Dillon in the In-Season Challenge this year?
Pocono set the seeding for the upcoming In-Season Challenge. Bad news for Denny Hamlin: For the second year in a row, his first round opponent is projected to be none other than Ty Dillon. "My kryptonite. What's the first race?" "Sonoma." "I'm cooked."

"You've got two guys at top that are willing to open up their note book and push each other to be better." Interesting note from Denny Hamlin post-race sharing that despite their fierce battle for the points lead, he and Tyler Reddick still share notes. Gave the example of Reddick sharing notes from his sim time at San Diego and Hamlin sharing pointers for some of the oval tracks this season.

Very sad news from Dreyer & Reinbold racing as they share the passing of team owner Dennis Reinbold. 😞
We are heartbroken to share the news that our owner, leader, and friend, Dennis Reinbold, has passed away peacefully, surrounded by his loving family. We ask you to join us in supporting the Reinbold family and respecting their privacy during this painful time. Dennis was a proud son of Indianapolis. He built a successful family of automobile dealerships across the state, and he loved the community of Indianapolis that gave him so much in return. That same devotion fueled his passion for the Indianapolis Motor Speedway—its history and the relentless pursuit of an Indy 500 win drove him every day. We can think of no better way to honor Dennis than to chase a victory in the 111th Running of the Indianapolis 500. We ask race fans to join us in remembering the man, his passion for our sport, and the memories we shared.

Lots of teams finding consistency recently. One of those have been the No. 47 HYAK Motorsports team. Three of the last four races have been top-15 finishes which might not seem like a lot but when you look at the beginning of their season. They went through an eight-race stretch finishing 17th or worse. It’s a step in the right direction.

Christopher Bell is trying to stretch on fuel with 16 laps to go. He has an eight second lead over Denny Hamlin, who is trying to hold off William Bryon for second.

The racing and strategy variation today has been refreshing. I'm not sure we'd be seeing a race like today in the Playoff era. Without "win-and-in" that can create "all or nothing" mentality, teams have the agency to race in the way that suits them best. It's been the story of the season so far with the return of the Chase, but it feels especially noticeable here for some odd reason. It's refreshing.
