The state of Georgia lost over 90% of its peach crop this year due to climate change. The warmer winter weather this past year didn't allow for the peaches to be chilled enough.
Peaches require a certain number of "chill hours" when the temperature ranges between 32F & 45F. Since Georgia didn't have enough cold hours this year, the crop suffered.
