I'm pleased to announce that our paper on information dynamics and motor activity in behaving macaques is finally out in PNAS! A great collaboration between @spornslab @dann_benjamin @SSchaffelhofer and @HansScherberger pnas.org/doi/10.1073/pnas.22…

New preprint!
Happy to share our new preprint! We developed a novel training approach using Person-specific self-supervised models to learn an embedding of facial movements independently of other facial characteristics. arxiv.org/pdf/2211.08279.pdf @cbm_student @RockefellerUniv

*Thrilled* to share our latest work with @seb_trem! Pioneering work in rodents from @anne_churchland's group showed that spontaneous movements dominate neural dynamics across the whole brain. Is this also the case in macaque monkeys ? biorxiv.org/content/10.1101/… πŸ§΅πŸ‘‡

Want to design and custom-fit your own NHP implants (with or without prior knowledge in CAD programming)? Our step-by-step tutorial is published and available now on eNeuro. Happy designing! πŸ€“ eneuro.org/content/early/202…

So cool to see that the automated training approach works well with marmosets. Great paper! Congrats to everyone involved.

Being a European scientists in the US, I'm effectively stranded here. This situation is devastating for me and my family especially since there are no plan or parameters in place to end or alter this travel ban. Please sign this: nature.com/articles/d41586-0…

There are so many new animal markerless pose estimation algorithms. All of which are compared to existing methods, especially @DeepLabCut Since performance depends on training data quality, I'm never sure if this is a fair comparison. Does any benchmark dataset exist?

Found a software developed by an tax-fundend academic lab. It is closed source and costs >500$. They don't offer support, ensure that it works and ask you to cite their papers which don't have competing interest statements. Software dev is effort but this isn't cool, is it?

Interesting that the M1 linear dynamical system view does not easily generalize from reaching to grasping. I'm curious how this will be discussed in upcoming papers.
After long battles with multiple sets of reviewers, our paper on M1 dynamics is out. @aneeshaKsuresh @jimmy_m_goode @liza_okorokova @MattAntimatt Nicho Hatsopoulos. elifesciences.org/articles/5…
