Really liked this paper by Fielding & Hornsey applying the social identity approach to proenvironmental attitudes and behavior: We need to look closer at how identification with groups can block or push a sustainable transformation. doi.org/10.3389/fpsyg.2016.0… 1/3

They recommend some strategies to encourage more pro🌿 outcomes. 'Forging a superordinate identity' is the one I find the most interesting. It is not just about 'us, the individuals' nor about 'them, the companies/politicians'. 2/3

We must acknowledge that different actors have different responsibilities (policy & companies have to reduce emissions, individuals have to show there preferences and demand a transition) but that we're not working against each other. 3/3

Yes! Psychology has the tools to analyse social interactions and should focus more on the social context. This, and other interdisciplinary work seems crucial to me.

Just had a lab discussion about the drivers of collective action after attending a march to @divestuvic - loads of interesting research already out there but I think there's a lot of important work still to be done!

Letztes Jahr wurde der #Stolperstein für Berta Ebeling verlegt, deren Lebensgeschichte ich über einige Jahre aufgearbeitet habe. Polieren, erinnern und merken, dass wir uns heute aktiv für Menschlichkeit einsetzen können. Immer wieder. @_Stolpersteine_ @DiePolierer

Berta Ebelings Name und ihr Schicksal sind seit über 60 Jahren, nämlich seit 1953 bekannt, als in der Zeitschrift "Vierteljahrshefte für Zeitgeschichte" der Augenzeugenbericht von Kurt Gerstein abgedruckt wurde.

Der Bruder von Kurt Gerstein war Bertas Schwager. Obwohl Bertas Schicksal so lange bekannt war, wurde es z.b. im Film "Amen" von Costa Gavras nicht richtig dargestellt, weil sich bis zu diesem Zeitpunkt niemand mit ihrer tatsächlichen Geschichte auseinandergesetzt hatte.
