The topic of Boots came up and I was explaining the meal deal, and my wife just flat out refused to believe me that you could get food in Boots. She's lived here 10 years...

Miracle of childbirth and all that, but when I try to show my wife the baby sized turd I shat out (through my anus, which a decent sex education will tell you is more delicate than the mighty vagina) she calls me a freak of nature and leaves me to unclog the toilet on my lonesome

Oh noooo don't add the graduity into the overall receipt thus making it socially acceptable to not tip that would so own us allllll...
Restaurants like this deserve to go out of business. If your can't pay your own employees you deserve to go bankrupt and shut down. They tried adding the gratuity to the receipt…
Community note
The restaurant "The Gilded Oyster" at 56 Oakwood Ave, Rochester, NY does not exist. This is a residential neighborhood with no businesses. maps.app.goo.gl/RKHAqyKXemE4tU… Similar videos claiming restaurants charge "frequent non-tipper" fees feature fabricated receipts as satirical content. brobible.com/culture/articl…

It's funny because my founder salary is <$100k and it's still a good bump up from what I was making before.
Worst VC behaviour I’ve seen in a portfolio company: A euro VC limited founder salaries to a very low level (<$100k). Founders then received a 9 figure acquisition offer. VC tried to block the deal as was only a 4-5x for them. I and other angels told them in no uncertain terms that we would go scorched earth on their reputation if they blocked the deal. The worst part: they failed to connect the fact that their miserly salary cap was likely the cause of the founders wanting to accept the offer. One of the founders was still renting a 1 bed apartment at this time and had a bunch of credit card debt. You should want your founders to be financially comfortable post series A so they can really swing for the fences…

I think one underrated thing about gender discourse is that our interactions with the same sex tend to be more assortative than with the opposite sex.

Generally complaints about the opposite sex centre on the worst offenders, but these people are largely alien to most people as they either don't associate with them, or it isn't aired openly in the circles they inhabit. Though this is a sweeping generalisation of course, ymmv

It's amazing how much milage you can get out of knowing a few basic rules of thumb like "a floating body displaces a volume of water of equal mass"

I don't think the Nowaks case is a good reason in of itself to change the law, but it is simply ridiculous that we have religious carve outs for carrying knives.
Can someone explain to me why it has been misreported so many times that Henry Nowak was murdered using a kirpan? It wasn’t a kirpan, and the blade used, while it was a ceremonial article, is not covered by the kirpan excemptjon, hence why the murdered was also charged with carrying a bladed article in public. This is from @FraserNelson’s interview with Jagbir Jhutti-Johal, Professor of Sikh Studies at Birmingham Uni.

It is unfortunately a pattern in Britain where the religious special interest groups lobby for special exemptions for their congregations and MPs are only too happy to oblige because the stakes are low and they don't want to risk pissing off a particular voting bloc.

Sometimes this is fairly benign but just as often it's freedom to continue some ethically questionable practices, or influence foreign policy, or recieve special priviledges above other citizens. I don't think this is conductive to a strong secular civil society.

What side is the Leon at Paddington on?
You win a 2-week, all expenses paid trip to London, but you have to stay within one of these rows. Which one are you picking?
