it’s scary asking questions on the internet bc everyone judges you for not having already known the answer like yeah i could probably look it up but it’s fun having my internet friends tell me things🥺

how many companies actually wanted data centers? i can’t help but imagine half the proposals were pump and dump schemes to hyper inflate compute stocks
More than 75 planned data center projects in the U.S., worth about $130 billion, have been blocked or delayed in the first four months of 2026. Communities across the political spectrum are pushing back because they worry about higher electricity bills, heavy water use, noise, and the impact on local infrastructure.

i can’t imagine how much film has been lost to the world bc it never got developed before the photographer died. how many events, calamities, war crimes, parties, performances are simply lost to time and film decay
I want to introduce you to Steve. He’s 83. His wife died a few months ago and he comes to this lodge in Spring Mill, Indiana and draws. He taught art in Terre Haute, IN his whole life. He also did courtroom sketches in court cases. In the comments I’ll share some pics from his sketchbook. He was excited when I said I was going to share his sketches with the world.

is this all a ploy by anthropic to save compute while simultaneously being able to charge enterprise prices for access while simultaneously gaining government subsidization for access to the model

As a native New Yorker it really irks me to see people going into the deli and looking at the menu. It's a quick way to out yourself as a transplant. Real New Yorkers just know what ingerdients delis have and order something without looking at the menu.

is that somehow different from the clock app icon?
I just realized that the individual layers of app icons can animate now on iOS 27 👀 Look at the blue location dot when dismissing the context menu
