This week's Supreme Court decision allowing ICE to continue immigration raids is a public health hazard that endangers the safety and well-being of nearly half of California’s population. Forty percent of the state is Latine and is now subject to racial discrimination under the guise of safety. Premature deaths caused by raids (like those in Camarillo, CA) will increase, and people in detention will be denied their medications and critical care. These raids are not about public safety. They are fueled by racism that will terrorize our communities and continue to produce devastating health consequences.
