As an Athletic Director, this is your reminder to tell your coaches thank you. In today’s world, high school coaches are so much more than people who install X’s and O’s. They prepare fields, paint lines, organize schedules, coordinate transportation, and help build programs. More importantly, they prepare young people for the real world by teaching hard work, discipline, commitment, sacrifice, and accountability. They work to keep teams together, have difficult conversations about playing time, strive to win, and navigate parents who believe in accountability for everyone except when it impacts their own child. Today’s coaches are teachers, mentors, leaders, and professionals. In most cases, they do all of this for very little money and a deep belief in the impact they can have on young people. So to all of my coaches….THANK YOU!! Thank you for the countless hours, the early mornings, the late nights, and the sacrifices you make with your own families to help raise someone else’s child. And thank you to your families for supporting your commitment to making the next generation better than the one before it. Your impact reaches far beyond the scoreboard, and our schools and communities are better because of you.

Goes for everything in your life as a leader. Don’t ask people to do things you aren’t willing to do or aren’t right beside them doing. Servant leaders are the best leaders!!!
You just represent what you say you do. If you’re a coach and speak about discipline and hard work you better show that in your life. If you are person of faith, there must be fruit. If you speak about health, you better have proof health is important in your life.

Remember when Reggie Bush once had to forfeit the Heisman Trophy for accepting improper benefits from agents (a rent-free home) and USC had to vacate a national title?

Just finished the first meeting with my team. I am glad, just as you are, to have Billy back on campus! This is a great group of guys who will play for one another (because thats who they are), ultra competitive, with a will to win. If we are not a great defensive team I haven’t done my job! We are physical, should be a great shot blocking team (at all 5 positions) and we have dogs! LETS GOOO

If something truly matters to you, you will put in the effort to make it great. That applies to your faith, your relationships, your family, your work, your education, and the people you care about. The reality is that material things eventually fade away. Titles change, possessions wear out, and achievements are often forgotten. What remains is the impact you had on others, the lives you influenced, the character you displayed, and the relationships you built along the way. At the end of the day, your legacy is not measured by what you owned, but by how you lived, how you treated people, and the difference you made in the lives of those around you.

Brutal
3 years ago, Hunter Dekkers was ruled ineligible for placing $2,799 in bets. He never played D1 football again. Brendan Sorbsy placed $90,000 worth of bets while at 3 different schools and gets to play college football this year.

Hear me out….. LSU should sign Joe Burrow, Justin Jefferson & Ja’Marr Chase on their NFL bye week, let them play. NCAA declares it illegal, but just find a Louisiana judge to file an injunction. Rules are just pesky suggestions now
NEWS: A judge in district court in Lubbock County, Texas, has granted the injunction requested by Texas Tech QB Brendan Sorsby. He’s set to be eligible for the 2026 season.

There really aren’t any rules. You just go to court. If it fails, go to court again until a judge says you’re all set. Want a 7th year? Sure Broke rules? Ahhhh, it’s fine. There AREN’T any rules.

The largest amphibious invasion in human history began in the dark. At dawn on June 6, 1944, nearly 7,000 vessels carrying 160,000 Allied troops closed in on the beaches of Normandy. Through courage and sacrifice, they secured a foothold in Nazi-occupied France and began the liberation of Western Europe. Today, we honor the heroes of D-Day.
