Last night we gathered in Andrew Haydon Park to honour a beautiful boy, Landyn Ferris, who died at school 100 days ago. Landyn deserved to come home safely at the end of the day. We need investments & policy changes in education to make sure that all our children come home safe.

Parents of children with special needs have been telling this government for years that more funding is needed to keep their kids safe at school. These calls have been ignored by this government. We need action and investments and we need them now.

Our schools in ON are massively underfunded, understaffed, and at a crisis point. Kids with special needs get placed in mainstream classes with no EA support & school boards call this "inclusive." Kids who need 1:1 adult supervision, left alone. We remember #LandynFerris

And, last month, #LandynFerris, a 16-year-old boy with special needs and Dravet syndrome (a seizure disorder), who NEVER should have been left alone at one of the schools in #FireLecce's portfolio, DIED at school. #OntEd
