Pope Leo XIV has publicly addressed the Society of St. Pius X for the first time, telling reporters that the group’s refusal to accept “various points of the Second Vatican Council” remains a fundamental obstacle to communion with Rome.
The comments come ahead of the SSPX’s planned July 1 consecration of four new bishops at Écône, Switzerland, without papal approval, an act the Vatican has warned could merit defacto excommunication.

People this unproductive and miserable need a shock to the system to wake them up and stop making the lives of others worse.
Based on the video, they handled this quite gently by not just making him work but reintegrating him into society. To show that he is appreciated and not alone.

Israeli outlet Israel Hayom reports, in a claim not yet echoed by other major outlets, that President Trump is weighing the dismissal of several senior administration figures who opposed the Iran deal, including Defense Secretary Hegseth and CIA Director Ratcliffe.
“The argument has been settled. Those who opposed it may pay a personal price,” a senior U.S. official was quoted as saying about the behind-the-scenes turmoil.
According to the report, Secretary of State Marco Rubio appears to be safe for now.

At least Rome announced before the world today that the faith born in the 1960s is fundamentally different than the faith that existed before Vatican 2.
He made it clear that you can be ex-communicated if you do not believe these new fundamental things.
Yet, it is impossible for "new" things to be taught.
Development of doctrine cannot lead to contradiction.
Yes, there is a crisis.

The pope could easily list the specific things about Vatican 2 the SSPX ostensibly rejects. The fact that he doesn’t indicates we’re back to the “Vatican 2 is whatever we say it is” phase of refusing to use precise theological language.
