A child grows up knowing the name of a place they have never visited. Heard through stories. Seen in photographs. Carried in memory. In 2018, the Great March of Return brought generations of Palestinians together in peaceful protest. Their hopes of return were met with violence. These works are part of The Great March of Return section of the Still Here exhibition, on view in Lisbon until June 16. Video by @rbardin

A Land with a People invites viewers to encounter Palestine as a home. A place where memory lives in the landscape and history echoes through its people. One of the themes explored in Still Here, on view in Lisbon through June 16.

To understand that there is no security is far more than to agree with the theory that all things change, more even than to observe the transitoriness of life. The notion of security is based on the feeling that there is something within us which is permanent, something which endures through all the days and changes of life. We are struggling to make sure of the permanence, continuity, and safety of this enduring core, this center and soul of our being which we call “I.” For this we think to be the real man—the thinker of our thoughts, the feeler of our feelings, and the knower of our knowledge. We do not actually understand that there is no security until we realize that this “I” does not exist.

Investors that have convinced you they are collectors, and opportunists that have convinced you they are artists. This is a market, not a movement.
