Let's be clear that core is not a new language. It's an incremental upgrade to the existing language. We have a long history of breaking backwards compatibility to push Solidity forwards and core is a continuation of that tradition.
Replying to @fubuloubu
But then you have Solidity Core Its a _2nd_ *completely new language* being researched alongside the primary work that most people would want to sponsor in the first place (Solidity, to be clear) It is 100% not clear what the future of these 3 languages is to outsiders

Blind signing was how billions get stolen. Today the Ethereum ecosystem ships the fix: an open standard, a neutral registry, and real developer tooling. Proud that @SourcifyEth is helping build the open-source libraries for the best developer experience and contributing with their 28M verified contracts across 180 chains. Make clear signing the default.

this is awesome - thanks @growthepie_eth for putting this together!
What smart contract languages are securing most of Ethereum's value? What Solidity version secures the most value? We partnered with @argotorg to analyze the value that is secured by the top 1000 contracts on Ethereum and the activity that goes through these contracts โฌ‡๏ธ

Scrolling through the annual Solidity Developer Survey๐Ÿ˜
What do 1,095 Solidity developers think about stack-too-deep, AI tools, Core Solidity, and the state of the ecosystem? The 2025 survey results are live. This year we've created an interactive site for exploring the results. Find the link below.

Couldn't be more excited about this one! Fun fact: Jacob was one of the first interns at the Ethereum Foundation 10 years ago and deployed a smart contract before mainnet even launched ๐Ÿ‘‡โ˜•๏ธ github.com/czepluch/Etheruemโ€ฆ Welcome to the team, Jacob! ๐Ÿ™Œ

I've joined the @solidity_lang team at @argotorg as Developer Advocate! They say there's nothing like dealing with a high-severity compiler bug to get yourself integrated into a new team, and that's exactly what happened in my second week. The explainer is linked in the next post. More than a decade in the Ethereum ecosystem means I've followed Solidity's evolution closely, both the language itself and how developers use it in practice. I'm excited to bring that perspective to the team and contribute to the continued development of Solidity and Core Solidity. I want to hear from you! What are your biggest pain points with Solidity? What features do you love? What would make your life easier? What would you like to see in the Core Solidity std lib? Ping me here or DM me, and we can have a chat. At the very least, take 5 minutes to fill out the Solidity Developer Survey linked in the next post. The Solidity team is full of incredibly smart people who care deeply about what they're building. It's motivating to be part of that, and I'm happy to be back contributing to the foundations of Ethereum.

Time for an @official_fe 2025 update! โšก๏ธ We believe language diversity and language research are essential to building safer systems. Fe is our exploration of that belief: a language that makes every side effect visible, prevents bugs before they happen, and pairs a modern developer experience with a strict safety system.

Initial 3-4 years runway is secured, but independence also means diversifying funding to ensure long-term sustainability for the ecosystem as a whole. Solidity is critical infrastructure, underpinning billions of dollars in DeFi and Ethereum as a whole. There are several ways to support this work - one simple option is the current @OctantApp StreamVote pilot (streamvote.octant.build/) and the upcoming Octant Epoch 10 in January. For direct support and donations, feel free to reach out here or visit argot.org/donate Onto 2026! ๐Ÿ’ช
