Quite pleased with this piece of work. No hospital implemented the pathway fully but we found that using a multifaceted approach to improvement and having support to collect @NELANews data was associated with more care processes improved. qualitysafety.bmj.com/conten…

Minimum dataset for surgical patients in Africa. Have a look at the dataset. Let's see if we can get this established across Africa. It would allow risk adjusted tracking of surgical outcomes doi: 10.1007/s00268-022-06815-3 rdcu.be/cZMAB @HylaKluyts #APORG @AfricanSOS

This thread gave me a warm fuzzy feeling and also brought tears to my eyes. Kindness is in short supply sometimes. But when I’m kind, everyone wins. Happy Friday everyone 😺
My 23rd patient today was a toddler with a cough and runny nose. He has been having symptoms, off and on, for three weeks. Mom is so tired. Her friend's son went to urgent care, got an antibiotic, and got better. This mom would like one for her son, too. 1/7

Just wondering if other Trusts are cutting Bank pay for critical care and theatres nurses or just mine? Apparently the cut is based upon NHSE pay caps but our senior team won’t share the guidance. Anyone know anything about this? @BACCNUK @WeNurses @theRCN

My professional & academic interests intersect in this study…how on earth did we make decisions during the madness of the COVID-19 waves? Questionnaire based upon findings from focus groups with colleagues…how transferable are these across the wider critical care community?
What human & system factors influenced decision-making in ICU during COVID-19? Please share your experiences & contribute to this Barts Health / QMUL led study here:  smartsurvey.co.uk/s/Z4C0OC/

Agree and work on shared decision making shows that patients may take different and more conservative decisions when clinicians take time to explain risks and benefits of treatment options
