We crunched the numbers. Without boosting immigration significantly now, the U.S. will sacrifice our position as the world’s largest economy by 2030, and leave the reserves of vital programs like Social Security depleted by 2034. Read here: fwd.us/news/new-report-incre…

Big @nytimes story on the massive explosion of 287(g) agreements. Our data shows we’re approaching a 1500% increase in the roaming, at large Task Force model since Jan 2025. A signature way the reconciliation fueling a massive expansion of enforcement:

Most DACA recipients are over the age of 31. They began adulthood with a new chance: work, drive & live without fear of deportation. Now, with the admin goal to limit protections they risk losing that opportunity & all they built with it. My latest: npr.org/2026/05/19/g-s1-1214…

The Trump Admin has waged a silent campaign against DACA recipients. Through delays, enforcement, & bureaucracy, individuals who only know America as their home are at risk of deportation. Read my op-ed in the Washington Post to learn how President Trump broke his promise to Dreamers.

I just forced a vote on the Senate floor to overturn a Trump rule that could kick 3.8 million workers out of their jobs. My resolution had bipartisan support, but most Senate Republicans voted it down.   This means workers with legal status will lose their work authorization because of bureaucratic delays, businesses will lose workers, and prices will go up. This reckless action won't just hurt "red states" or "blue states" – we will all pay the price.

While President Donald Trump has touted a sharp drop in illegal entries to the country, a Cato Institute analysis shows legal immigration has fallen even more dramatically. The Cato analysis shows that 132,000 fewer people are being admitted per month through legal pathways. Watch @ElizLanders' interview with the study’s author, David Bier. He is also the director of immigration studies at Cato, a libertarian think tank in Washington, D.C.

Twenty thousand families with mixed immigration status would lose public housing benefits under a Trump administration proposal. HUD says immigrants are "pushing aside" US citizens, but most people who would lose out under the new policy are Americans--almost half of them kids.

Texas is cutting undocumented immigrants off from school, work and driving. The sweeping rule changes, all enacted outside the typical legislative process, have upended life for noncitizens, including those who are here legally. texastribune.org/2026/04/02/…

For a year now, I’ve been documenting how U.S. citizens are getting caught up in immigration enforcement operations. But American children are increasingly collateral damage in the government’s campaign for mass deportations l propublica.org/article/ameri…

NEW: For the first time, ProPublica has been able to quantify how many U.S. citizen children have been directly affected by Trump’s immigration crackdown: more than 11,000 kids had a parent detained — and that’s an undercount. 1/ 🧵 propublica.org/article/trump…

Immigrants and US sponsors paid over $1 billion in fees for applications the government isn’t processing, per 2024 data, says Cato’s @David_J_Bier. “If applicants aren’t eligible, deny them—but don’t take their money and withhold the service,” he adds. ow.ly/tYKb50YxPTN

Bipartisan effort to bolster pathways for international student graduates of U.S. schools to stay and contribute their education skills here, rather than taking them to our competitors. This is smart, simple stuff to keep us in the lead globally.
