From yesterday's exhibits in US v. Sam Bankman-Fried: The prosecution shows that the "insurance fund" that FTX bragged about was fake, and just calculated by multiplying daily trading volume by a random number around 7500

This is a must read for anyone interested in spatial omics! 🤩 To me, this is a landmark paper and an example of really intelligent use of spatial data. Beautiful work, I've been waiting on this since the preprint - congrats to everyone involved!🥳
Excited that our work on learning cell-cell communication in spatial transcriptomics is finally out @NatureBiotech! Led by @davidsebfischer & @AnnaCSchaar, we setup a graph neural network to estimate niche composition on expression in unbiased fashion. nature.com/articles/s41587-0…

Today we’d like to highlight features from functorch, a beta PyTorch library that provides JAX-inspired function transformations like vmap. (pytorch.org/functorch/) If you’re not sure what sort of cool new things vmap allows you to do, read on to learn more! (1/n)

We are very excited to announce scverse (scverse.org), a new consortium around the core Python packages for single-cell omics data analysis. scverse is a cross-lab effort to ensure the longevity and interoperability of the single-cell analysis ecosystem in Python.

A question for all the #spatialomics people, what's your favorite term for the spatial locations and why? I see so many different options: bead, spot, feature, pixel, gexel, etc. Can't we just agree on one?😤🙏 Some thoughts👉 almaan.github.io/post/2022-0…

About 3 weeks ago I defended my PhD thesis (🥳); it still feels kinda surreal... While writing the whole thesis was a blast, expressing my own reflections and predictions in the Epilogue was my favorite part. For the curious, I put this into a blog post: almaan.github.io/post/2022-0…
