LIU Softball has been the class of the NEC for nearly 4 decades. They’re off to an 11-0 start in league play in 2026. However, newcomer New Haven has proven to be the Sharks’ toughest conference competition yet through the first 2 games. It took an Anais Soto RBI double in the 7th, with LIU down to their final out, to send the game to extras & steal victory in Game 2. Katie Rhodes gets the ball for New Haven in the finale, looking to avenge a loss in yesterday’s Game 1. Sarah Wall started in both games yesterday for Long Island, throwing 124 pitches over a combined 7.1 innings of work. She’ll be the starter in the circle again today. He finishes with 33 to cap off an incredible stretch in which he averaged 25.8 a night over the final 12 games of the regular season. Coats beat Capital City in OT for a second consecutive night, finishing the year on a 3-game winning streak to get to 18-18. Saint Thomas also had 32 for Delaware. Igor Milicic added 21 & a career high 14 rebounds.
