THE DAWN OF A NEW SPACE AGE
I attended the Foreign Policy Research Institute’s (FPRI) 18th Benjamin Franklin Award for Public Service, where we celebrated Jared Isaacman and his groundbreaking achievements.
@rookisaacman and the Polaris Dawn crew recently completed a five-day mission in space, achieving the first commercial spacewalk and the highest-altitude orbit of Earth, among other historic “firsts.”
Jared Isaacman, CEO of Shift4 and an accomplished pilot with over 7,000 flight hours, was the commander of Inspiration4, the world’s first all-civilian mission to space. His leadership helped raise over $240 million for St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital® to help eradicate childhood cancer. In 2011, Isaacman co-founded what would become the world’s largest private air force, Draken International, training pilots for the United States Armed Forces.
As someone involved in FPRI’s mission, I’m proud to be part of an organization that is dedicated to providing high-quality, nonpartisan analysis on critical foreign policy and national security challenges. Through FPRI’s work, we help educate policymakers and the public, using insights rooted in history, geography, and culture to shape a better future.
I’m excited to continue exploring the intersection of innovation, space exploration, and national security, and how it will impact the United States and the world at large. FPRI is doing remarkable work in this space, and it’s inspiring to be a part of that conversation and effort.
