Would love to connect with more #NGSSchat, #OpenSciEd, #SciEd, #AcademicTwitter friends where the skies are blue. Same handle.
I have stayed because so many educators I want to reach & learn from haven’t made the transition, but the time has come, friends, to make the jump.
Our theme for this round of #OpenSciEd PL was how to use Universal Design as a framework for ID & removing barriers so that all Ss have the opp to access rich sci learning exp. Check out some of these posters of what participants took away from this experience. #NGSSchat

When engaging in virtual PL, we cannot underestimate the power of using norms to develop ways to move our virtual community forward! #OpenSciEd#NGSSchat
We are so grateful for all of our #OpenSciEd facilitators and state leaders as they partner with us to prepare teachers to field test our next batch of units. While we may be apart for this round, we are definitely still a strong community of learners.
Our maiden virtual @OpenSciEd Facilitator PD has begun. Follow #OpenSciEd to learn more about the work that we are doing to reduce barriers that may prevent students from having the opportunity to engage in rich science learning. #NGSSchat

Look what came in the mail this morning! The #OpenSciEd PD team is eagerly preparing for our next “wave” of PD this week - reducing barriers & designing solutions w/in the constraints of Zoom to support meaningful sci learning for our Ss and Ts. #NGSSchat
#phenomenon Received 2 severe thunderstorm warning alerts w/ hail predicted. How will “broad mid level rotation” and high winds help with hail formation?

So I just played with Jamboard. It's totally free and I invited some students to make a sample DQB and it was easy. We're going to attempt our next #DQB set-up this way during remote learning. You can even add pics (i.e. our changing models). Thank you for sharing.
Hello #CANGSS community! Wondering how to maintain #NGSS learning when not in a classroom? @abeslo and his 2nd and 4th grade colleagues are giving us a window into the possibilities. Check out this thread where they work with introducing/exploring an anchor phenomenon
To support parents/Ts who are trying to support sci learning at home, @BSCSorg wants to provide sharable videos of phenomena with scaffolds to support Ss sensemaking.
