The impact of positive role models cannot be overstated. At Itambabiniga and Bukere Primary Schools, members of GBV Prevention Clubs explored conflict management, peaceful coexistence, and mental wellbeing. What stood out most was seeing current club members inspired by former participants who are now thriving in secondary school. When young people lead by example, positive change becomes contagious. #ACFODE #EndGBV #SafeSchools

Today, we honour the heroes whose courage, sacrifice, and vision helped shape Uganda's story. As we celebrate Heroes Day, we also recognize the everyday heroes among us; women, men, and young people who continue to serve their communities, challenge injustice, and work towards a more equal and inclusive society. #HeroesDay2026 #ACFODE

“Some customers refuse to get on a boda because the rider is a woman.” That was one of the realities shared by women boda boda riders during ACFODE’s peacebuilding and GBV prevention training in Kyegegwa. For riders like Grace and Vivian, working in a male dominated industry means constantly proving they belong. Yet every day, they continue to ride, earn, lead, and challenge stereotypes in their communities. Their stories are a reminder that women continue to break barriers in spaces where they are often underestimated. #WomenBreakingBarriers #EndGBV #Peacebuilding

Protecting communities starts with the simple actions we take every day. As Uganda responds to the Ebola outbreak, this is a reminder that staying informed, acting early, and looking out for one another can help keep communities safe. ✅ Wash your hands regularly with soap and clean water. ✅ Seek medical attention early when symptoms appear. ✅ Follow trusted public health guidance and avoid misinformation. ✅ Limit physical contact when unwell or caring for someone who is sick. Let us stay calm, informed, and united in protecting one another. #EbolaAwareness #CommunityCare #PublicHealth

A child learns best in an environment where they feel safe, heard, and supported. School should be more than lessons, tests, and report cards. It should be a place where children can ask questions, make mistakes, grow with confidence, and simply be children. As the new term begins, let us all play a role in creating safe learning environments free from violence and fear. #EndViolenceAgainstChildren #SafeSchools #ChildProtection

Ebola is preventable. Regular cleaning and disinfection with chlorine-based solutions can help reduce the spread of the Ebola virus. Keep your surroundings, shared spaces, utensils, clothing, and bedding clean, and always follow guidance from health authorities. Together, we can protect our families and communities. #EbolaPrevention #StaySafeUganda #PublicHealth

Movements don’t weaken because the work is too big. They weaken when the people behind them are not supported. The DVA Coalition spent 3 days at ACFODE House strengthening solidarity, advocacy, and resilience. For ACFODE, resilience begins with how we care for each other.
