Today I$rael tried to kill me in a targeted airstrike in southern Lebanon as I was reporting on was the targeting of bridges and the forced displacement of 1 million people, an ethnic cleansing operation on a larger scale than the Nakba I have absolutely no doubt that this was deliberate. Despite claims there were no warnings ahead of the strike and no notifications sent to the Lebanese Army who allowed us to film As we have seen in Gaza they want to silence journalists who document and report their war crimes It is the western powers who provide political and military support for I$rael, arming it to the teeth to carry out genocide in Gaza and ethnic cleansing here in Lebanon. They are not simply complicit, but active participants and should be held accountable for their actions. But if I$rael thinks today’s strike will silence us and keep us out of the field they are very, very mistaken

#Afghanistan #Refugees #Iran #No_to_racism Let the world see the shameful record of #Iranians; the very descendants of Ferdowsi and Khomeini’s clerics, who defend the rights of Palestinian children, today insult and humiliate the children of #Afghanistan. Pretending to be oppressed for the world, while shamelessly oppressing their neighbors. #نه_به_نژادپرستی #ایران

To be Afghan is to wake up daily with a punch in the heart. As expected #Taliban suspend University for women, leaving girls only 1-6th grade. And #congress omits the bipartisan bill that created a safe path for the Allies that fled last year. Starvation, indignity, oppression.

I can’t explain to everyone what a huge win it is to have @IMDb include #MENA (Middle East / North African) in its race / ethnicity box. For those that have checked OTHER for decades, you understand! Slowly we are claiming space ✅ #proud of @MenaAdvocacy 🏆

More restrictions are being imposed on Afghan women by the Tban in Afghanistan. Shameful and disgusting to see how women are treated but the world is watching with blind eyes. 🙄
We are deeply concerned about yesterday’s announcement by the Taliban that women are not allowed to enter parks and gyms anymore. We reiterate the importance of respect for human rights, esp. women’s rights, safe passage & freedom of movement.

Thank you so much @jonstewart for shedding light on the repurcussion of the US withdrawal from Afghanistan that we are still seeing, one year later. We must protect our #Afghan allies and pass the #AfghanAdjustmentAct NOW.
American troops relied heavily on local interpreters in Afghanistan. In return, we promised a path to U.S. citizenship. But we’ve largely failed to deliver on that promise. Stream the episode now on @AppleTVPlus

The Taliban have informed us they are refusing to issue our filming permits. They instructed us not to leave our hotel & to get out of Afghanistan immediately. They cited issues with our report on women’s rights, & alleged security concerns. Deeply disappointed to be leaving.

Utterly stupid and ill informed statement. Afghanistan was also a peaceful and “civilised” place in 1979 before the Soviets invaded (and became the battle zone between the West and Soviet block). Ditto for Iraq (before the American attack in 2003)
"This isn't a place, with all due respect, like Iraq or Afghanistan that has seen conflict raging for decades. This is a relatively civilized, relatively European [...] city where you wouldn't expect that, or hope that it's going to happen." #Ukraine #UkraineUnderAttack #Russia

43,000 Afghans have filed for humanitarian parole to resettle in the U.S. since July 2021 (paying almost $25 million in fees). How many applications has the US approved? 170 We urgently need comprehensive legislation to expedite Afghan resettlement. nytimes.com/2022/02/16/us/af…

People are starving in Afghanistan 🇦🇫 and it is not a joke. People’s lives are at stake. It’s devastating.
Devastating piece by @christinalamb "In my 35 years as a reporter, I have never seen anything of Afghanistan’s magnitude - 23 million people, more than half the population, face starvation and a million children may die" thetimes.co.uk/article/in-my…

The people of Afghanistan face one of the world’s most rapidly growing humanitarian crises. Today, we presented our plan to help 22 million people in the country, and 5.7 million people in need of help beyond its borders. I urge world leaders to take action & fund our efforts.
