Tonight 5 pm MST on Voices on the Record, we revisit one of the most widely discussed testimonies presented during the National Citizens Inquiry COVID hearings.
In May 2023, rural British Columbia physician Dr. Charles Hoffe appeared before the Inquiry to share his experiences treating patients, reporting adverse events, and raising concerns about informed consent, physician autonomy, and the ability of medical professionals to speak openly within the healthcare system.
His testimony became part of a much larger body of evidence presented by physicians, scientists, researchers, and members of the public from across Canada.
One of the most memorable moments came when Dr. Hoffe reflected on what he believed the pandemic revealed about society:
βThis entire pandemic has been a moral integrity test. There are some people who will do what they're told, no matter what. And there are some people who will do what is right, no matter what.β
Recent legal developments involving Dr. Hoffe have renewed public interest in testimony that remains as relevant today as when it was first presented before the Inquiry.
Join us tonight at 5:00 PM MST as we revisit this important testimony from the public record.
