I condemn Hamas’ appalling killing of civilians in Israel, and I am horrified by the Israeli army’s indiscriminate killings of Palestinians in Gaza, where 2.2 million people – almost half of whom are children – are locked in one of the most densely populated areas on Earth, which has been described as an “open-air prison” by a United Nations expert. Israeli bombardment has obliterated whole Gazan neighbourhoods, with an Israeli defence spokesperson saying “the emphasis is on damage, not accuracy”. The Israeli government has shut off supplies of food, water, electricity and fuel, putting Gaza on the brink of an unthinkable humanitarian catastrophe. ...

I get that this is a national emergency but you beat the profession in one breath to win placate your voters, then ask the impossible in the next breath. Still going to insist on face to face??? Knowing GPs and their moral fibre, most will still move heaven and earth to help
