📰 A New Crop of α-Synuclein Tracers Enter Human Testing “The field has made a lot of progress over the past year,” said Robert Mach of the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia. “We’re getting closer to having an α-synuclein radiotracer that could be used in large-scale clinical trials, though we’re not there yet,” he told Alzforum. Mach has spent more than a decade developing α-synuclein tracers. Gérard Bischof and Andrew Stephens of radiopharmaceuticals company Lantheus agreed. “Technological advances in the discovery of these compounds have led to the first set of candidates that may eventually be developed further”. 🔗 Continue reading: alzforum.org/news/conference…

📰“It has become clear, thanks to the use of imaging and fluid-based biomarkers in conjunction with careful clinical phenotyping, that people have different trajectories once they start to accumulate amyloid.” - Henrik Zetterberg. At the annual #ADPD2027 conference, Gustav Ceder interviewed Henrik Zetterberg about what is top of mind in neurodegenerative disease research right now. Zetterberg splits his time between the University of Gothenburg, University of Wisconsin- Madison, and University College, London, and is a foremost expert on biomarkers in Alzheimer’s and related diseases. 🧠 In this Q&A, he explains why disease heterogeneity is emerging as a central theme in the field, how broad biomarker panels can drive discovery, and which molecular patterns and biomarker advances he believes are most likely to matter in research and clinical practice. 🔬 🥼 🔗Continue reading: alzforum.org/news/conference…

📰Does α-Synuclein Immunotherapy Slow Parkinson’s, After All? "Can targeting α-synuclein slow the course of Parkinson’s disease? Despite years of trying, success has eluded scientists thus far. At the AD/PD conference, held March 17-21 in Copenhagen, Denmark, Roche scientists finally offered some evidence for this, citing 2.5 years of long-term extension data from the Phase 2b Padova trial of their anti-α-synuclein antibody prasinezumab.🔬 🔗" Continue reading: alzforum.org/news/conference…

📰At C-BRAIN Workshop, Scientists Test-Drive New AI Agents "At last year’s AD/PD meeting in Vienna, what is now the Consortium for Biomedical Research and AI in Neurodegeneration was an idea. By this year’s AD/PD in Copenhagen, C-BRAIN had become an operating consortium with a $10M budget that offered up its first prototype AI tools for scientists to try out and critique. The best of these will be combined toward C-BRAIN’s ultimate goal of building an “AI co-scientist” that aids Alzheimer’s researchers in their quest to make discoveries that lead to better therapies."🔗👉Continue reading: alzforum.org/news/conference… #ADPD2026
