We learned that Paris has such a distinct culture from the rest of France that there is a distinct term for those outside Paris ('ploucs')! It's already Day 3 of the Paris Olympics - we look forward to learning more about this beloved city. Knowledge maps were created by Atlas. Many thanks to @AnnaGordon0111 for the really fun and engaging piece with @TIME time.com/7003861/paris-olymp…!

Intelligence, just like beauty, lies in the eye of the beholder. That is the argument put forth by @Abigail_Desmond and @twig_technology's piece on @aeonmag. Some really insightful things in here. What an invigorating read! 👇

Our favourite insights were: - 'Intelligence is important to us, and so we seek it in others' - Intelligence is a way to identify co-occurring traits that mean 'success' - We are prone to assume intelligence when we're surprised Snippet of an Atlas-created map below:

We came across @Samantharhill's 'Beyond Authenticity' from @aeonmag. Needless to say we loved it. Our favourite insight was Hannah Arendt's concept of the will, and the importance of choice and responsibility in shaping one's identity. aeon.co/essays/what-hannah-a…

With our 'Causal Explanation Map', we learned further details of each thinker's key ideas (again, these are distilled). Some things clicked. We returned to the piece and re-devoured it in full. This time, we were better able to appreciate the philosophical nuances explicated in the writing. Many thanks to @Samantharhill for the beautiful piece and for teaching us something new!
