This is one of the most impressive team efforts I've seen in my career. Massive props to the whole Base Chain team. First of many Base hardforks coming your way! It's only going to get better and better

Hot take: DeFi doesn't have a smart contract security problem. It has a key management problem. April's biggest losses (KelpDAO $292M, Drift $285M, Wasabi $5M) were admin key compromises. No timelocks. No multisig. Write better code all you want. But the ops problem still remains.

Making progress! Been in the trenches with the team building but want to highlight an exciting milestone from a couple weeks ago: 10k transactions in a single block, i.e. 5k TPS. Results of the team's work on scaling and stability. Onward! basescan.org/block/43712142

i have bots arguing with each other during code review. as a manager i would typically force them to get lunch together and have a 1:1 then come to me with a co-authored plan. what are y'all doing in this situation

Guess how much SO2 you need in the stratosphere to offset 108.7M tons of CO2? We need just 108.7 metric tons of SO2—the weight of one Boeing 757. For context, that’s roughly the same amount of SO2 already emitted annually by just one large airport like BWI (Maryland). We’re talking about using the equivalent of one airport’s sulfur output to neutralize the warming of a 30GW national power fleet for data centers. @MakeSunsets balloons make this possible today for $108.7 million at the current retail price of $1/gram of SO2 deployed in the stratosphere, which offsets the warming effect of 1 metric ton of CO2 for a year. As we scale, we can get it down to $0.01/gram deployed.

A new, unified stack for Base Chain Excited to share that we are evolving our technical roadmap, consisting of our own spec, code, and infra to accelerate the foundation of Base. This shift gives us the autonomy to ship protocol improvements more frequently and focus our resources on scaling to 1 gigagas/s. What this means for builders: - Higher Velocity: Targeting 6 hardforks per year to get you new features and fixes faster. - Massive Scale: Targeting 1 gigagas/s to support high-throughput apps without congestion. - Extreme Reliability: Targeting 99.99% non-empty blocks and predictable, low fees. - Simpler Design: A maximally simple spec that’s easier to audit and build on. Along with this, we will take a more active role in managing our own upgrade schedule and stack: allowing us to build what the ecosystem needs, at the speed it needs, while remaining deeply aligned with Ethereum. Read the full technical breakdown here: blog.base.dev/next-chapter-f…

Base is currently experiencing intermittent transaction inclusion delays on mainnet. Users will notice higher than usual latency for transaction inclusion. Blocks continue to be produced and transactions are being processed. This is our top priority and we’ll update our status page as we roll out fixes: status.base.org
