Words cannot describe the unspeakable acts I would commit to prevent this from happening in my purview. This is beyond law. It is primal. There is no justice that can be meted out by the laws of man to sate my sinister lust for vengeance here. I know I’m not alone.

"Rivers of Blood" must be reappropriated from a 20th-century prophecy to a 21st-century promise. A promise to everybody who participated in this. Every politician, every copper, every nurse, every clerk; and, of course, every rapist. "But if you do what is evil, be afraid; for it does not bear the sword for nothing; for [the state] is a minister of God, an avenger who brings wrath upon the one who practices evil." ~ Roman 13:4

Fascinating report. Among other things: Prime Minister @Keir_Starmer let off 13,000 gang rapists and pedophiles. Mayor of London @MayorofLondon denied the existence of rape gangs he was personally aware of.

I basically just plot everybody on here on two axes labeled interesting and pleasant. The uninteresting/unpleasant quadrant is the only real no-go zone. I don’t care what any of you really, secretly believe.

You have no idea how much of a whitepill this is. There’s this tendency on the Right where everyone wants the GOP or the “conservative movement”, or the country itself to be everything for everyone. There are no enemies, there’s no opposing worldview to negate, there's only technical economic challenges that we have to tackle. And yet, this unwillingness to ever declare a public enemy means that the Right is always ceding ground and making concessions to minoritarian groups in the name of openness and acceptance and tolerance, despite the fact that those same groups would never extend such liberal sympathies if they were the ruling the majority. Any political movement that is willing to bend over backwards for everyone and tries to represent every identity group on the planet and refuses to admit that some forces are hostile to the very order it claims to defend is not really a political movement at all. It is quite literally a form of controlled opposition that inevitably becomes the means through which every organized hostile force extracts concessions from the very people the movement itself supposedly exists to represent. For too long, the “conservative movement” has been a sponge that exists for no other reason than to absorb this growing outrage from the American people who are watching their own country being given away. This cannot continue any longer. The sponge can’t absorb any more outrage. And so, you’re just going to see more and more headlines like this where Americans publicly stand up and declare the obvious truth that America is not a universalist project for everyone. It’s our home, and there’s no longer any room for those whose ideology or religion would naturally destroy this entire country if they ever became a majority.

I wonder how much "return to office" is really down to boomers who don't know how to collaborate online

I’m actually a child online safety expert and was one of the pioneers in this space with Club Penguin and so I feel uniquely positioned to critique this. The groomer problem is real but it’s also vastly overstated. The far larger issue we saw at Penguin was suicidality or reports of sexual abuse in the home. There is no solution for lazy/bad parenting. You can implement all the ID laws you want but if parents are going to just hand kids their phones unlocked, those kids will have access to all the same things the parents have unfettered. What I found is that these draconian safety laws actually make it harder to be an honest operator of kids apps because on one hand it’s so much legal risk and so much user friction that it simply becomes uninvestible as a business. Parents will just lie to let their kids use the unfettered internet. For example, I have a friend who works in mobile gaming who has two kids, one above and one below the age limit but separated by just 2 yrs, and the two wanted to play and chat together on Roblox - which is reasonable. To do this, he just verified that his younger kid is old enough for the chat feature when he’s not. This happens all the time and will happen with these laws to. How far do we want to go with this? Scan the face of the user in real-time to make sure it’s not a kid using the device? We could do that but it feels like a massive unwanted intrusion of privacy. That’s how you know this law isn’t about kids. COPPA and GDPR-K and so forth already make it illegal to allow chat and other grooming vectors to kids. What’s really being done here is trying to eliminate online anonymity. And this is a far bigger issue that goes to core speech rights because if you cannot criticize the govt anonymously and if wrong speech is a crime then it becomes easy to identify all the detractors of the govt in power, and ban, fine or jail them for speech crimes. Starmer has already been doing this and he wants to do it at a much bigger scale. Starmer won’t even acknowledge the problem of actual grooming gangs in Britain’s neighborhoods but he’s worried about online grooming? No he’s not, and this hypocrisy gives away the game. What he wants is to kill online anonymity so he can enforce censorship of his unpopular policies. No politician should have this power.
My first instinct was to support the UK’s social media ban for under 16s. Protecting children from grooming, exploitation and harmful content seems like common sense. But I’m seeing a lot of opposition to it, so I’m genuinely curious as to why? One thing making me second guess is that platforms like bluesky are exempt, while at the same time there’s a push to let 16 year olds vote. To me that looks less like child protection and more like controlling where young people get their information. Interested to hear other perspectives.

This leftist tactic actually has a name. It’s called, believe it or not, “Denounce the Nazi.” It’s not enough to simply admit that an error in judgement was made. Because you have been placed on the back foot, the leftist will then pounce, demanding that you make a vociferous denunciation of whatever wrong think you supposedly committed, genuflecting before the leftist to beg their forgiveness. But forgiveness isn’t the point. This is a humiliation exercise that allows the leftist to assert power over you. The leftist is not sincere in his demands that you “repent” of your sins, because he is not offering forgiveness and restoration. Again, the point is humiliation and submission/subordination. The call to confess your “sins” is offered in bad faith. The only proper response to any call to “Denounce the Nazi” is to refuse to play the leftist’s game.
Prediction: Ogden will not actually repudiate Nazism. They will instead say that it was a mistake to allow a secular publisher who promotes non-Christian religions to be a vendor at their conference.

Can I do a little long form tweeting here? I generally consider X to be a place for hot takes, funny memes, and quotes, not big discussions. But indulge me, this once, because I’m not a blue checkmark guy. I’m not getting paid to poast; I’m here just for the love of the game. 1/

Maybe you don't follow baseball, but there is a big controversy now because it was "Pride Night" in San Francisco the other night, the SF Giants' players were supposed to wear caps where the "SF" logo (normally in orange) was instead in rainbow colors, and several of the pitchers wrote Biblical verses on their hats next to the rainbow "SF." Predictably, the SF crowd is apoplectic, labeling these players "bigots" and "homophobes." Query: when your employer forces you to wear imagery that is abhorrent to your deeply-held, long-established religious beliefs, who is the "bigot"? (And don't tell me "Well then they shouldn't be in MLB," because you are saying you must abandon your religion to work.) It's the complaining LGBTQ crowd who are the "bigots" in this case.
