Oh it's me! ๐Go listen to this episode of @RobotTalkPod ๐ค๐ I had a very nice conversation with Claire about the Human Robot Interaction work I've been doing as part of @tas_hub@MakerCobot
Gisela Reyes-Cruz (@agiselarc) is a Transitional Assistant Professor at @UniofNottingham, researching everyday life interactions with computers and #robotic systems, as well as trust in them and public acceptance.

Now at twitch.tv/dair_institute, Mophat Okinyi asks, why are the data workers so poor as Sama, the data labeling company that boasted about "positively impacting" their lives, kept on getting so rich ๐ค ?
This project is a MUST for anyone using, working with, and/or investigating AI. We must learn and listen to the stories behind tools like ChatGPT. There is no AI without data, and the data workers behind AI deserve respect and ethical, human, treatment. data-workers.org/
Join us at the launch of Data Workers' Inquiry on July 8 at 8am PDT/5pm CET, executed by 15 data workers in 4 continents. Find zines, reports, documentaries, podcasts & more with insights that can only be found when workers tell their own stories๐

2023 was the year AI exploded into the mainstream. It was also the year workers, artists and activists stood up against bosses and tech giants using it degrade their jobs and communities. I wrote about the rising movement of new Luddites for @TheAtlantic:

Trust is relational, not something we do individually. Paraphrasing from @ginasueโs keynote at #TAS23, We donโt need trusted technology, we need technology that helps us to trust.
Super interesting presentation by @ABoudouraki on non-use of technology (specifically telepresence robots).
We need to rethink how we determine 'success' or 'failure' of tech beyond the binary use/non-use. There could be meaning & value in limited and low-use too.
