Grateful for privilege. That I do not work jobs that don’t align with me. I do not spend time with people I do not care for. I do not stay in places I do not want to be in.

NO, you CANNOT walk 10,000 steps daily, get 8 hours of sleep, cook every night, clean every day, take care of a family, make time for your own hobbies, and still be productive at work every day. This is not just propaganda, it is rubbısh. Free yourself from it.

And no lies were told.
A fascinating fact in history: Ancient Egyptians believed women were goddesses because they could create life.

I noticed something: People who have traveled a lot tend to judge less. Not because they became nicer, but because they've seen too many versions of what's "normal." In one country, it's normal to eat with your hands. In another, it's normal to stay quiet at the table. In a third, it's normal to hug strangers. When you've seen 30 different versions of "the right way," you stop believing yours is the only one. Travel doesn't just teach geography. It teaches tolerance.

While we are still seized by the spirit of the age, it is important to highlight what collaboration among Africans can do. South African actors, Nigerian director, Zimbabwean author. Imagine if we scale this up in every field, incl Education, Industry and Science and Technology.

There’s absolutely nothing more pleasing than watching yourself do the things you said you’d do. I really value honoring the promises I’ve made to myself.

Normalize being very direct, very straight to the point and very assertive. A surprising amount of tension in adult life exist because people avoid saying what they actually mean.

A HUGE fan of the push to keep under-16s off social media. I think it's an excellent idea, and NONE of the alleged positives, combined, amount to even a fraction of the immense, often irreversible negatives. I hope governments and society implement as quickly as possible

allow people to speak highly of themselves and admire them for it. you don’t know how long they spent questioning their worth before they finally learned to recognize it. what sounds like cockiness to you, may be the result of years spent rebuilding themselves from the inside out.

That thread was necessary, as a girl in her young 20s I'm awakened to the fact that: 1. You can always be more 2. Whatever you pursued for undergraduate doesn't have to necessarily determine your Masters or PhD 3. Black women are more than the eyes meet 4. There's no academic limit, you can keep on going and going and going So a letter to my 10 years self from now, "represent us well, Ik you can"

I keep a rolling Notes doc called "Good things are always happening to me" and update it whenever I realize a good thing totally just happened to me. Good things are always happening to us.
