Ankara is reviving a historic Ottoman-era transport project. At the Antalya Diplomatic Forum, Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan presented a map highlighting Turkey’s major transport and energy initiatives. One of the standout projects is the revival of the legendary Hejaz Railway, which will reconnect Turkey, Syria, Jordan, and Saudi Arabia. Fidan emphasized that securing transport routes across Anatolia and the Middle East is vital for the economic stability of the entire region. Originally built on the orders of Ottoman Sultan Abdul Hamid II, the Hejaz Railway was designed to link Istanbul with Medina. The new project aims to restore and modernize this historic line, boosting trade and strategic cooperation across the region.

The Sun is by far the biggest source of energy in our solar system Even here on Earth, the Sun accounts for roughly 100% of all the energy we use - fossil fuels are just ancient sunlight stored in plants, while wind, hydro, biomass, and solar power are all driven by the Sun right now Beyond Earth, the vast majority of spacecraft, satellites, and future Mars bases run entirely on solar energy The Sun puts out 3.8 × 10²⁶ watts - more energy in a single second than all of humanity has ever used in its entire history And just to put it in perspective: the Sun makes up 99.8% of the total mass of our entire solar system. Jupiter is only 0.1%. Everything else (Earth, Mars, asteroids, etc.) is basically miscellaneous We’re finally learning how to use the only energy source that actually matters ☀️

📌 Bloomberg reports today that #Turkey is in talks with #Italy to buy and co-produce SAMP/T batteries from Eurosam. The Iran threat is the immediate trigger, but the story has a longer arc. 🇹🇷 🇮🇹 Turkey signed a preliminary agreement with Eurosam in 2018 — involving Aselsan, Roketsan, Thales, Leonardo and MBDA — for the co-development of long-range air defense systems. It stalled after Operation Peace Spring in 2019, with France blocking on political grounds. The S-400 has not resolved Turkey's air defense gap: it remains incompatible with NATO systems and cannot integrate into the Steel Dome, Ankara's national layered air defense architecture. Since then, Turkey has increasingly tried to penetrate the European defense industry. Italy has been the most consequential partner: Baykar and Leonardo established LBA Systems, a 50/50 unmanned systems joint venture, and Baykar acquired Piaggio Aerospace. But the pattern extends beyond bilateral ties, with partnerships accumulating across the broader European defense industry. France's reported openness to the deal is likely not incidental to this. Turkey is no longer knocking on the door as an outsider — it is already embedded in the industrial architecture that Eurosam depends on and builds on that. Italy's institutional stake likely makes it a more credible guarantor, which changes the political calculus for Paris. Whether the 2018 agreement can serve as the basis for a revived deal remains to be seen.

Iranian beauty stays with you. There’s something in their faces that feels deeply familiar. Precise, patient hands that give a sense of quiet intelligence, a kind of strength that makes everything seem intentional. Ceasefire or not, they won my heart.
