Price is obviously a big issue, but I can see this becoming a part of every household in 5-10 years. Some quick thoughts:

...which was the immersive video. You genuinely feel you're elsewhere.
Watching a sports event live will feel like you're in the action. Following a travel influencer will feel as if you are walking alongside them. It triggered a deep emotional response.
I can see myself buying it just to get my parents to see all the places they won't be able to visit.

Overall, I showed up thinking people would be crazy to spend $3,500 on it, and left thinking whether I should get one.
