H.E. President Dr. @MMuizzu delivered the closing remarks at the inauguration event of the seamless integration of PayPal Services in the Maldives.
Speaking at the event, he described the milestone as the fulfillment of a key pledge made to citizens before taking the oath of office in November 2023.
The President framed the integration as part of a wider blueprint guided by Vision 2040, the Government’s roadmap to becoming a fully developed, high income nation. Under the Maldives 2.0 digital transformation, the digital economy is targeted to contribute at least 15 percent of GDP by 2030.

According to the South Ari Marine Protected Area (SAMPA) Management Plan propeller guards should be installed before 30 June 2026.
Why install propeller guards?
Prop guards are intended to serve two purposes:
To protect the propeller and gear box from damage in the event of a prop striking a rock or other hard object.
To protect a person or a whale shark in the event they come into contact with a moving propeller.
Prop guards alone cannot solve all the problems. The most effective way of avoiding prop strike injuries is by avoiding a person being in the water anywhere near a moving propeller in the first place. The focus should be on following several basic and essential good practices, including:
Keep a proper look out at all times
Check the area around the engine for hazards before starting the engine
Use a kill cord whenever the engine is running
Stop the engine when there is a risk of a person in the water encountering the propeller
Warn passengers of the hazard associated with falling in, in particular prop strike
Maintain the speed limits and distances identified in the management plan
Prevention is better than cure!
A promise kept. A vision realized.
