@chrastil@alinatu0 and team - congratulations! What a fantastic paper, wonderfully done!
This is precisely the kind of work we need to move the field forward on this question and presented so carefully and thoughtfully! I love it!
A few thoughts --
🚨 new paper alert! Does hippocampal volume relate to navigation abilities? What about hippocampal subfields? @alinatu0 addressed this question that has been perplexing the navigation community. The short answer: yes, but it's complicated. 🧵 1/6

I think it's finally time I move to Bluesky (@alinatu.bsky.social)! I'll be attending #psychonomic24 in NYC soon and am excited to connect with y'all on the other app 😎
On Thursdays, I get to fill the @ucicnlm kitchen with these incredible scholars who are dedicating their careers to understanding the brain and curing neurological disorders. How did I get so lucky? 🥯☕️🧠🫶
A few years ago I was in a position to do something unique in neuroscience. I had been working with the phenomenal @emilyjacobs on menopause and inspired by @laura_pritschet's menstrual study, and I was planning a pregnancy. What if we scanned my brain??

I'm still processing how amazing and intellectually-stimulating #iNAV2024 was for me. Thank you to the organizers for a wonderful conference at such a spectacular place 🤩 (1/2)
I'm SO grateful to meet the people behind the papers that inspire my projects and for the multitude of opportunities to share my work and my research-informed opinions with others. 🧭🗺️ (2/2)
Turns out #iNAV2024 was exactly what I needed to get myself out of my research slump. Feeling motivated & inspired about my work for the first time in months! So thankful to everyone who let me rant about my mad scientist theories! So happy to be a part of the @chrastil lab.
Day 2 of #iNAV2024 ended with a thought-provoking discussion, an awesome poster session, and of course some pizza and tiramisu with friends!
"how is navigation defined?" kept me up at night 😂😂
To all grad students at iNAV, I have created a google doc to organise our thoughts for the discussion on Friday:
docs.google.com/document/d/1…@JeungSein @eperpm @alinatu0@DanielaCossio96 and others - please share 🧠🙌 (*please request permission to edit to keep it to our group)
Poster no.32 at #iNAV Come chat about white matter microstructure and path integration in midlife! Also, potentially seeking a post doc position next year so plz hire me for pink posters
An end to a truly fantastic first day of #iNAV2024! 🧠🙌
Getting lost in great company is the loveliest thing.
Looking forward to another day of serendipitous encounters, life-changing conversations and light-bulb moments…
Day 1 of #iNAV2024 complete 🥳
Today was a full day of interdisciplinary navigation research, and I'm grateful for the insightful conversations I've had with new and old colleagues. Looking forward to a restful night of sleep before another full day of exciting talks tomorrow!
Shoutout to @StarrettMike for a great data blitz talk! Other @chrastil lab folks at iNAV include @neuronumerica and me with posters today (Tue). Tomorrow (Wed) is @DanielaCossio96's poster.
If you're interested in human path integration, check out my poster #44, and dm to chat!
After 3 flights, 2 delays, a 4 hr shuttle ride, a car accident, 24 hrs of travel, and less than 4 hrs of sleep, I have finally made it to #INAV2024. I didn’t even lose my poster. Just my sanity
