Yesterday, we were honored to hear from Dr. William Turner, who shared insights & stories about his journey from a Parkland resident to a distinguished general surgeon. His passion for medical education has impacted >450 residents throughout his career. Thank you Dr. Turner!

My first #SAGES was definitely one for the books! Learned so much, reconnected with some old friends, met some incredible people, and truly had the most fun! Can’t wait for next year! @md_desir @christinewangy @carla_holcomb @Danny_Scott__ @SAGES_Updates #SAGES2024

Just a bunch of @USFHealthMed grads at @UTSW_Surgery. Nothing better than having my favorite humans from medical school alongside me. And of course we are eternally grateful to our fearless leader @dallastrauma for making sure we have the best training in the country. 🀟🏼

We are not self-important: we are important to the care of others We are not anti-gun: we are anti-bullet holes in our patients We consult with everyone but extremists Most upsetting, actually, is death and disability from gun violence that is unparalleled in the world

Someone should tell self-important anti-gun doctors to stay in their lane. Half of the articles in Annals of Internal Medicine are pushing for gun control. Most upsetting, however, the medical community seems to have consulted NO ONE but themselves. nraila.org/articles/20181102…
