82 years ago today, the course of history changed.
On June 6, 1944, more than 150,000 Allied troops stormed the beaches of Normandy in the largest amphibious invasion ever attempted. Thousands would never return home, but their courage helped secure the freedom that generations have enjoyed since.
D-Day reminds us that freedom is not inherited it is defended. It was earned by ordinary men who answered an extraordinary call, facing impossible odds so that future generations could live in liberty.
Today, we honor the heroes of the Greatest Generation, remember their sacrifice, and recommit ourselves to being worthy stewards of the freedom they fought to preserve.
May we never forget.
