one of the smartest things a gen z told me was to never explain a tiktok, meme, joke or anything you saw on the internet to someone irl. the pay off is small, the task is impossible and is old person behavior

Someone make a "How It Would Have Ended" series, where creators drink and explain how their canceled series would have ended, and we get to watch actors play out the roles in someone's backyard or whatever

Had a major bike crash today. Everyone I know is out of town. A stranger helped me for over an hour and made sure I got home… then my new neighbor who is a nurse bandaged my arm and her family fed me dinner. Feeling very lucky.

Snowflake CEO explains how B players can tank your company. This is especially true for early-stage startups because founders (including me) get confused by: "they are not bad enough to fire." Except for compromising on actual outcomes, you are setting a culture of mediocrity.

Happy birthday to the great the Polish master Krzysztof Kieślowski, who translated the mysteries of everyday life into incandescent, richly cinematic reveries with a mix of rigorous philosophical inquiry and operatic emotion. 🖤 🖤 🖤

When I was 8 I used to walk around with a copy of the Aeneid so adults would think I was smart. (I read ten pages, max.) I liked that it implied I had read the Iliad and the Odyssey - and moved past them. Anyways, there are lots of people on here whose whole deal is doing that.

Guess these people never watched Peep Show.
What makes Succession great has always been how despicable the characters are, yet you still wanted to watch them, and you could even sympathize/empathize. One thing I never considered as the endgame was making them so irredeemable that the audience is ready for the show to end.

Glad today and every day not to be a mother. But, I almost always think on this day about my friends who would love to be mothers, or those who can’t be mothers the way they want to be — how hard that is for those who want it so much, and I hold them in my mind all day.

The absolute worst humans in the world worked here, in my experience. They acquired film.com then fired all of us after saying they wouldn’t. Also they still owe me freelance money they never paid.

i feel bad that anytime someone asks me for career advice i just want to say "take your copious, versatile, extremely valuable skills that are supremely undervalued by the theater industry and do literally anything else for a lot more money"

I lent someone on a Reddit mutual aid board some money since they seemed to be in a bad spot. They promised to repay yesterday and now won’t do it. Trying to just let it go but it bummed me out.

I don’t know enough of any language to be useful but when I’m in Turkey, my mind reaches for my limited Spanish. In Mexico, I find myself nervously trying to respond in Turkish.

Do people really not know this? It’s to train self driving cars, that’s why it’s all buses and street lights.
why don't CAPTCHAs ever ask us to distinguish between citrus fruits? or whales from dolphins
