I absolutely feel this. Teaching is not what it was as a profession all these years later. I left it behind at Christmas but I will always remember what it was, and what we could have had, so fondly. šŸ’•

Thank you to the lovely @LNER staff who made Charlie’s first train journey so lovely yesterday. Travelling with a 3 year old was made so much easier by the kindness of the staff šŸ’•

If the government wants truly to make a difference it will over invest in 0-5 year provision rather than under invest. Sure Start was levelling up. What I’d do for a government with a long term vision bbc.co.uk/news/education-687…

We believe Government will say teachers should get just a 1-2% pay rise this year. If you’re a teacher in a school or sixth form in England or Wales, make sure you vote - enough is enough! Get ballot ready at NEUActivate.com #PayUp24 #InvestInEducation

Our reducing workload; winning on pay event is in full swing. We’re now discussing the removal of PRP and the reinstatement of the 23 tasks teachers shouldn’t do; a welcome win by education unions. @amyk21 training reps to use the reducing workload resources.

Ofsted will have five lawyers paid for by the taxpayer at Ruth Perry’s inquest. Her family have had legal aid declined- crowdfunding to make it fairer. Coroners have cited Ofsted as factor in deaths of 10 teachers already - surely this is a turning point. gofund.me/5a059fa7

PA Consulting has a Ā£7.6m government contract to trial reforms to fix a SEND system currently so cash-strapped parents have to fight tooth and nail just to get support We found the day rates their consultants are charging - but can’t tell you Story šŸ‘‡ schoolsweek.co.uk/gagged-pa-…
Edition 338 done and dusted and a first for me: An injunction threat means we can’t tell you all the story we had planned to this week But we can tell you how we’ve been ā€˜gagged’ from revealing information that we believe has huge public interest šŸ‘‡

Interesting shotgun meeting again with the DFE. Less than 24 hours notice. No notice of what was to be discussed. Turns out they want to implement Minimum Service Levels in schools to break strikes. 1) if @GillianKeegan wants to implement minimum service levels, I have some ideas: Every child taught in a class under 30, every child taught by a qualified teacher, every child to have the SEND support they need, every child to be taught in a school that is fit for purpose and not crumbling. 2) The government have no democratic mandate to attack our democratic right to strike. The PM has never faced an election and they would be wiped out if they did. No mandate and no right to attack our democratic right to strike. 3) The Government are treating the profession with contempt. They knew about the £370m funding blunder during the early phases of RAAC and sat on it to avoid greater embarrassment - denying schools the info they needed. 4) Today they briefed the sun newspaper before they briefed the profession. Disgraceful.
🚨 Breaking: government to introduce strike-breaking ā€˜minimum service levels’ in schools Full press release:

This is your regular reminder to check your teacher pensions - I found two big holes in mine and it's turning into a massive headache to sort it out. Log on to Teachers' Pensions and DO IT. I don't even want to contemplate the possibility of the holes not being filled...
