Holcomb (3A) with the fastest 4x800 in all classes of Kansas today at 7:56.73 (Landen Leonard, Weston Baker, Jeb Stoppel, Brody Deniston). The fastest time in Kansas a few days ago was 8:01.63 by Washburn Rural entering the meet. These four set the 3A state meet record last season at 7:58.52. Holcomb is the defending 3A state track and field team champions under head coach Kent Teeter. This is overly impressive of a 3A team to have the best time in Kansas with loaded relay teams in 5A and 6A. Their 4x800 team took third at KU relays in a loaded field as they lost to two out of state opponents 7A Bentonville (AR) & Class 6 Rockhurst (MO). Holcomb has just 267 students in grades 9-12 combined. #sportsinkansas

Awesome first day of Track & Field for our first day. We have 92 athletes out this year. Today we will concentrate on not losing any in the wind.

Super excited for Maddy and her family as she will continue her education and track career at Garden City Community College. 5 time star medalist and has our school record in the 400 meter. Awesome athlete but even a better person!

Cooper Cranston @CooperC_VII went to the @HillBrosFB 5 State Showcase tonight and produced some great numbers as a freshman! 4.57 laser 40 a 4.26 laser pro agility and a 33.1 inch vertical! Also got to spin the ball around a bit! Coop had a great summer! 🤘🏻🏈🟧⬛️‼️

Holcomb’s 6’5 305lb lineman, Drayton Knoll is a name to look out for this season. With multiple D1 offers the 3⭐️ senior has his pick of where to continue his 🏈 career next fall. When asked about his senior season Knoll says, “On the upcoming season we have the goals of winning league, districts and win as many playoff games as possible! We’ve won 7 games for the past 4 years and it would be nice to keep adding on to that!” Knoll was a Sports in Kansas First Team Non Senior pick in 2023. 📷 credit: Shannon Hulett

Congrats to Holcomb boys head track and field coach Kent Teeter on being selected as the 2024 USTFCCCA High School Boys Track & Field State Coach of the Year from the state of Kansas. He led the Longhorns to the 2024 3A state title. Teeter has been a highly successful track and field/football coach at multiple programs in Kansas. He’s also won two state titles in football at Holcomb (2015, 2017). #sportsinkansas
