I decided to rewatch the first Gladiator to get ready for Gladiator II, and man, I had forgotten the moral depravity of this film. The movie basically celebrates Maximus’s killing of Commodus in the end. Like, come on, that’s a human being — a brother, an uncle, a son.

Basicly because of how the game rules work, losing the game is technically part of the trigger you missed, so because you can't partially miss a trigger it needs to go on the stack and resolve for you to lose. But if you have mana you can still pay it.

This creates a really awful mini game, because its technically cheating to notice it was missed and not immediately say something, from either side, but you both have high incentive to either wait until the player is tapped out (if you are his opponent) or can pay as the player.
