#BREAKING: A pickup truck crashes into a TTC bus at high speed at Yonge/Finch leaving 8 people injured including driver of pickup who ran off but was arrested. The 7 people hurt on the bus include the bus driver. None of the injuries are life threatening.

The results we report are just the first of a series of hits from this screen -
we hope some of these will ultimately be new anti-parasitic drugs. It’s daunting to be trying to address such a massive global health problem but collaboration is always key!

Finally, this was a very satisfying project as it all began as basic science: throwing drugs on worms and seeing what happened, with no disease relevance in mind. That led us to a new assay, a new drug screen, a new family of leads. Basic science opens doors!!
