Yesterday I helped to release 400 large marsh grasshoppers back into the Norfolk broads as part of the @CitizenZoo @NorfolkWT Hop of Hope project! You can read about it more in the thread below >

I've spent so much time picking grass and rescuing escapees, and while I'll miss the hoppers it was great to see them released into the wild at @Wheatfen. Our next batch of LMG egg pods are set up and ready to go!

I explored Portland this weekend- climbed the lighthouse and walked along the coastal path to the beach. Couldn't believe how many Kestrels were hunting along the cliffs!

Couldn't resist visiting the Bee-eaters on my trip home to Norfolk. They're so colourful, the cloudy weather and picture quality don't do them justice! Although their first breeding attempt failed, we've got all fingers crossed that the second attempt is successful.

Completed my final Roding count for the @_BTO @Gameandwildlife Breeding Woodcock Survey 2023! We finished on 5 flypasts, with 2 males chasing. And I heard at least 6 nightjars in the survey square! Turn your volume up to hear them calling

Had the opportunity to take part in the Poole Park Greylag Project catch today. I had a great time ringing the geese and meeting new people! Thanks @gardenbirder1 for organising the catch. All birds ringed under BTO license, following HPAI guidelines.

A massive congratulations to @gardenbirder1 for reaching the 5th year of the Greylag project 🥳 A batch of new colour ringed geese out at Poole park, thanks to the efforts of the team today. Birds ringed under license with HPAI precautions taken to protect humans and birds.
