AnRep3D was abandoned. Back to Scientassist again, but now it's not about products, but miscellaneous investigations.

Forgot to announce the most recent blogpost. I was preparing the construction of a #microtome and checked the market for second hand devices (usually still extremely expensive). Then I found one! scientassist.wordpress.com/2…

Not the result I'd hoped for, yet fun to do. My final experiment with magnetic fields being influenced by their environment didn't show the expected results after all. scientassist.wordpress.com/2…

Very interesting #EU audit report, concerning the critical raw materials for the #energy transition eca.europa.eu/ECAPublication…

A very old subject, I took up again: the #micotome scientassist.wordpress.com/2… Actually this was only the first step! After this post I'll be silent for a couple of weeks, because I'll be on holiday.

Finally the results of the spectrophotometer, already downgraded to a spectroscope because of a stubborn webcam. The results (#spectra) are interesting indeed, but not very useful. scientassist.wordpress.com/2…

My attempts to construct a device for DSR (Diffuse Reflectance #Spectroscopy) were not completely successful, because of the #webcam. scientassist.wordpress.com/2… Next time it will be Plan B.

This time I was preparing for measurements of #radioactivity in rocks. scientassist.wordpress.com/2…

For those who are interested in the #recycling of e-waste, this is a great presentation by Elisa Arteaga Prieto, on behalf of prof. Karel Van Akker (both KU Leuven, Belgium). youtu.be/eqIpAKUPIgA?si=Ve4V…

During a large tour around #Almere I took a couple of other #water samples. The results were not as expected, but really interesting. scientassist.wordpress.com/2…

After a long time some water samples were taken. Mainly a a reference for others, but the picture is nice after all. scientassist.wordpress.com/2…

No final results, but an update about my activities. scientassist.wordpress.com/2…

Again an attempt to use magnetism to investigate rock. The effect is clear, but not distinctive (enough). Then a unexpected effects of water and brine were observed (the rocks were fry and had a high resistance). scientassist.wordpress.com/2…

To be able to perform diffuse reflectance spectroscopy (DRS) on rocks, a good light source is key. It turned out that things had changed a lot over the past decades. scientassist.wordpress.com/2…

I think Rowow.net is sincere, so I donated a small amount. This innovative #membrane technology could revolutionise how we extract minerals (including #urbanmining !). Every donation helps gofund.me/fa8ae23ea (Buying a membrane is also an option).

Does anyone know this guy youtu.be/WLwQE4_k-lE?si=6NQr… his company or membrane technology (open source - other video)? Company is rowow.net Ideas are worked out very well. Process will need huge currents, so that's an issue for the Netherlands.

The next step in magnetism was more successful, although it wasn't yet the solution I hoped for. scientassist.wordpress.com/2…

This time I decided to do a really simple #experiment. It worked out quite well and provided useful insights about an #LDR - #LED combination. scientassist.wordpress.com/2…

With this post we complete the series on #Plastic scientassist.wordpress.com/2… We'll be back with miscellaneous subjects.

This guy invented a very cheap way to make #membranes for #electrolysis of #metals (from #ore or e-waste) and "open sources" it. Could make e.g. #REE processing more environmentally friendly. He needs partners and sponsors. youtu.be/CuFFl4NJDOw?si=BPld…
